The optimization and automation of the supply chain is being focused by more and mo re companies. Infineon and Siltronic see the big chance standardized e- business processes offer. The common goal is to achieve a better transparency, shorter reaction time and cost savings within their supply chain. With the implementation of selected Ro settaNet standards, which are labeled as Partner Interface Processes® (PIPs®), both partners reached a win-win situation in a very short timeframe. The target was to integrate the first joint systems connection based on RosettaNet standards: starting with an electronic XML based Advanced Shipping Notification (eASN) from Siltronic and ending with the send ing of the RosettaNet PIP 3C7 from Infineon to Siltronic, in order to automate the Self Billing process (PIP 3C7) in conjunctio n with the consignment stock handling. These first specific process steps are speeding up the whole process of self billing, pro vide better transparency within consignment stock on a lot or batch number base, eliminate manual errors and are opening the pa th for a global roll out of the process.
