What is a Software Compliance Testing and Certification?

Software compliance testing and certification is performed to test a software solution for compliance to RosettaNet e-business process standards. The RosettaNet Ready™ compliance badge and eBusinessReady certification seal indicates that an independent, third-party compliance service provider has tested the software solution and, by passing this test successfully, the software solution demonstrated that it has implemented RosettaNet standards and is compliant with the published RosettaNet specification for RNIF and/or specific PIPs.

Beginning in October 2004, compliance testing and certification is offered through eBusinessReady , an industry-neutral software testing program, which is endorsed and recognized by RosettaNet. This new certification program continues the original vision of the RosettaNet Ready initiative to accelerate development and implementation of RosettaNet standards, and expands it to a broader market scope.

It is not intended to make any decision regarding the interoperability, the capability of integrating with back-end software, or the quality of implementation based on the software or the capability of supporting specific usage recommendations. For interoperability questions regarding how this software works with that software, RosettaNet launched a Foundational Program on Interoperability. Please check out the interoperability program for more detail. See Related Sections below.

RosettaNet Ready RNIF v2.0 Compliance Badge
The RNIF 2.0 RosettaNet Compliance Badge indicates that a software solution has proven that it follows the RNIF 2.0 specification. During the test, all of the mandatory functionality and most of the optional functionality of the RNIF was tested.

R osettaNet Ready PIP ® Compliance Badge
The RosettaNet compliance badge for a specific PIP indicates that a software solution has proven that it follows the PIP specification. To earn the badge, the software solution showed that it could generate all data elements of the PIP following the PIP specification. Additionally, the software solution has also shown that it can identify incorrect versions of this PIP which are not standard compliant to the original specification.

eBusinessReady Software Compliance Seal

The eBusinessReady compliance seal indicates a software solution has been tested and certified compliant with the RNIF v2.0 or with a specific PIP. Testing requirements are the same as listed in the above for RosettaNet Ready RNIF v2.0 and PIP Compliance Badges. The Global Service Relation Number (GSRN) located within the eBusinessReady “Certified Software” seal refers to the specific testing and certification achieved. The GSRN is an audit trail for the final test results, detailed test reports identified by the GSRN will be available for review on the eBusinessReady website.

Software Solutions with Compliance Certification
A software solution that has earned a RosettaNet Ready compliance badge or eBusinessReady certification seal has proven that it implemented the RosettaNet standard. Software that has not yet received certification can also be compliant with the RosettaNet standard but has not yet been proven in a test environment. If a software solution has obtained compliance certification, it is compliant with RosettaNet standards and has been verified by an independent compliance service provider.
