RosettaNet Press Release RosettaNet Ready™ Software Developer Tools and Intel® Architecture Software Developer Kit First Available to Community For Release May 23, 2002
Santa Ana, CA -- RosettaNet, the high technology industry’s leading e-business standards consortium, today announced the launch of the RosettaNet Developer Tools Library, an online repository of community tools needed to accelerate implementation of RosettaNet standards throughout the high technology trading network. All contributed software tools that reside in the RosettaNet Developer Tools Library section of the Web site will be made available to the general public at no cost. Among the first to be hosted are the RosettaNet Ready™ Software Developer Tool Kit and the Intel® Architecture Software Developer Kit for RosettaNet. The implementation tools, each independently researched and developed, were contributed to the RosettaNet online software repository to foster greater B2B integration opportunities. Tools that comprise the library include software developer kits, version migration tools and testing suites. “Over the past year and a half, RosettaNet adoption and implementation has grown dramatically throughout the high technology sector on a worldwide basis. As the standard becomes more deeply integrated into company trading networks, implementation tools and services are critical to the continued acceleration of e-business exchanges,” said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet. “Tools such as the RosettaNet Ready Software Developer Tool Kit and the Intel Architecture Software Development Tool Kit for RosettaNet are the first of many enablers being contributed to the community so that this widespread adoption for all sized enterprises across the globe will continue its impressive pace.” The RosettaNet Ready Software Developer Tools, a component of the larger RosettaNet Ready Program, helps provide a benchmark for measuring adherence to the RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF) and Partner Interface Processes® (PIPs®). The tools serve as a foundation for B2B integration and development – accelerating trading partner network deployment and enabling interoperability services. The RosettaNet Ready Developer Tools provide users with complete access to the Self-Test Kit Application and its Source Code, PIP Test Scripts, Test Script Generator and support documentation. The source code and tools are designed to assist in the future development of RNIF 2.0-compliant software products, trading partner readiness testing and interoperability services. The Intel Architecture Software Development Kit for RosettaNet (IA SDK for RosettaNet) is a solution that helps developers build applications that enables small- to medium- sized companies to exchange business transactions electronically. Several built-in features make the technology easy-to-use and cost-effective for the developer. Modular in design, the IA SDK for RosettaNet includes source code that can be used by a developer to create applications that work with RosettaNet standards, as well as extend support to additional back-end data sources, additional PIPs and communication protocols. The IA SDK for RosettaNet supports RNIF 1.1, Windows 2000, as well as PIPs 3A4, 3B2, 3C3, 3A7, 3C4 and 0A1. Developer and installation guides take the developer through all of the components needed to design easy-to-use and easy-to-maintain solutions. (See Software Kit Helps Build RosettaNet Solutions on Intel Architecture, 5/23/02) “Intel is pleased to contribute to RosettaNet’s Developer Tools Library,” said Colin Evans, director of Distributed Systems in Intel Labs and chairman of the RosettaNet Executive Board. “RosettaNet implementations are critical to Intel’s e-business strategy. Tools such as the Intel Architecture SDK for RosettaNet help make solutions more accessible to small- to medium- size enterprises so they can utilize the RosettaNet standard quickly and easily.” To access a copy of the Intel Architecture SDK for RosettaNet, visit the RosettaNet Web site at www.rosettanet.org. The RosettaNet Ready Software Developer Tool Kit will be available for download in mid-June.
