RosettaNet Press Release Leading e-Commerce Consortium Establishes Partner Relations Group In The U.S. For Release December 6, 1999
Santa Ana -- RosettaNet today announced that it has opened a European Office and has appointed Thierry Ceillier as Director of EuropeanPartner Relations. Headquartered near Geneva, Ceillier will manage the RosettaNet effort to identify and integrate specific European requirements of companies participating in a global initiative to align supply chain interface eBusiness processes within the information technology (IT) and electronic component (EC) industries. He will also manage the European Partner Relations in these two industries. His appointment coincides with the scheduled first meeting of the RosettaNet European Review Committee on December 7, at which time supply chain trading partners will address issues relating to implementation of RosettaNet standards in Europe. Since its launch in 1998, RosettaNet has focused on building and developing basic supply chain interface process standards that will allow information and transactions to flow across corporate business process boundaries regardless of geography, according to RosettaNet CEO Fadi Chehad é . Having validated the technical aspects of RosettaNet's Partner Interface Processes (PIPs), members are testing a variety of implementations prior to a scheduled production system rollout in February 2000. European members need to have equal participation in resolving implementation issues to ensure standards may be applied on a truly global basis, Chehad é said. That means testing of Partner Interface Processes (PIPs) within the European business environment and involving members in a measurement, feedback and adjustment process. Chehad é noted that both RosettaNet Managing Boards have included representation of European companies from the onset who have influenced the direction of standards development to ensure conformity to European requirements. According to Ceillier, the European Review Committee will be a venue for identifying additional European requirements, PIP pilot test partners, as well as a formation of a RosettaNet European Business Champion team, comprised of RosettaNet ambassadors from partners. "This team will identify implementation requirements specific to Europe and will be the agents in deploying RosettaNet standards within their respective companies and trading partners," Ceillier said. Prior to joining RosettaNet, Ceillier operated a consulting practice with services in business communication, information engineering, change management and knowledge transfer. His computer industry experience includes several years with Digital Equipment Corporation, where he held multiple management and operational responsibilities in sales, marketing, distribution and consulting. He was awarded diplomas in Information Technology and Business Management from CNAM and INSEAD, respectively, and has served on the faculty of business and professional schools in France and Switzerland. U.S. Partner Relations RosettaNet has also announced the formation of a U.S. Partner Relations effort chartered with relationship development between RosettaNet trading partners, implementation of RosettaNet PIPs, recruitment of new RosettaNet partners and communication and coordination of key initiatives and events. Dave Jaskulke has been named director, IT partner relations. Jaskulke is a 20-year IT industry veteran. He was most recently senior director, product management, at Ingram Micro where his responsibilities included the alignment of strategic initiatives between Ingram Micro and its largest trading partner, Compaq Computer. Barney Martin has joined RosettaNet as director, EC partner relations. Martin has 30 years of management experience and was previously with Solectron where he was responsible for completing RosettaNet PIP pilot testing. Prior to Solectron, Martin implemented large enterprise relationship planning (ERP) systems and served as operations manager in the high tech electronics industry. |
