Vitria Continues To Drive Industry Adoption Of RosettaNet e-Business Process Standards

Vitria’s BusinessWare Meets 100 Percent of RosettaNet Interoperability Software Trial Requirements

For Release February 25, 2003

Sunnyvale, CA

Vitria® (Nasdaq: VITR), the leading provider of business process integration solutions, today announced its ongoing support for RosettaNet’s standard, the RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF 2.0). In a recent series of interoperability tests conducted by RosettaNet, Vitria’s BusinessWare® for RosettaNet 3.2 was found to support 100 percent of interoperability requirements as identified in the test plan. With BusinessWare’s support for RNIF 2.0, companies can orchestrate their internal business processes with those of their partners over one of the most widely accepted protocols in the industry.

RosettaNet is an independent, non-profit consortium of more than 450 of the world’s leading high-technology companies working to create, implement and promote open e-business process standards. Vitria has been a leading member of the RosettaNet consortium since it was founded in 1998 and continues to collaborate and provide resources that actively support the continued success of RosettaNet standards development.

“Our collaboration with RosettaNet has been hugely rewarding from the start. We greatly support their goals of industry interoperability and open standards,” said Jose Lazares, director of Supply Chain Solutions, Vitria. “We’ve worked hard over the years to ensure that our business integration products are up to speed with RosettaNet’s protocols and standards – and we’re proud to announce our proven software interoperability with the RosettaNet Implementation Framework standard.”

The RNIF 2.0 core specification defines the packaging, routing and transport of all Partner Interface Process (PIP) messages and business signals. The standard supports intermediaries such as e-marketplaces and exchanges, accommodates complex multi-document business messages and contains additional provisions for authenticity, privacy and non-repudiation. The recent tests conducted by RosettaNet measured the products of each participating company in terms of their compatibility with and support for RNIF 2.0, and ability to interoperate with other products. The results provided an objective measurement to differentiate products that are prepared to operate on RosettaNet trading partner implementations.

“RosettaNet programs are designed to help facilitate adoption of open standards – driving down costs and speeding implementation time, said Jennifer Hamilton, RosettaNet CEO. “We are pleased that Vitria and other members of our valued solution provider community continue to support these ongoing initiatives in an effort to further advance business integration technology, resulting in large-scale adoption of RosettaNet standards.”
