GridNode Selected By Ever Technologies For RosettaNet Basics B2B Solution

EverTech deploys GridNode’s Cost Effective Business-to-Business Integration (B2Bi) Solution in RosettaNet-based Supply Chain Initiatives with Intel

For Release August 15, 2002

Redwood City, CA --

GridNode
, a global software company and leading provider of e Xtended enterprise Businessware (XB), today announced that Ever Technologies Pte Ltd ("Evertech") has deployed the GridNode’s B2Bi solution, GridTalk, to implement RosettaNet-based supply chain initiatives with Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) .

Among the first few globally, this landmark RosettaNet Basics implementation enables Evertech, a leading advanced semiconductor manufacturing and testing equipment provider, to leverage the Internet for efficient and cost-effective supply chain integration with Intel.   Working closely with Intel and Evertech, GridNode has implemented the specified set of RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes (PIP®s) for processing purchase order submissions and order status management.

“We wanted to implement our RosettaNet initiatives in a progressive approach cost-effectively,” said Dr. Seng-Thor Ang, Managing Director of Evertech.   “In the first phase, we had to be able to transform the data from our existing database systems into RosettaNet-compliant XML documents.   Second, we had to automate the secure exchange of documents with trading partner , such as Intel.   Third, we needed to integrate to our backend system to automate the entire supply chain process.   With GridTalk, we have the flexibility to accomplish RosettaNet enablement with Intel using the “RosettaNet-out-of-the-box” implementation without relying on time-consuming and labor-intensive alternatives.   Intel was very helpful to make the connection successful, too”< /span>

“Small and mid-sized trading partners want to improve their e-Business connectivity, but do not require the same kind of complex interfaces that large-scale companies require. Intel has worked with RosettaNet to establish a Basics Solution for small and medium size business and Evertech is our first connection.   Basic Solutions support global interoperability across high-tech trading networks, and should accelerate the adoption of cost-effective and common RosettaNet standards in the future” said Steven Yeo, Director of Intel’s Customer e-Business Group in Asia.

“The successful implementation of Evertech’s link to Intel demonstrates GridNode’s ability to translate RosettaNet Basics initiative into tangible business benefits,” said Chee-Tong Leow, Managing Director of GridNode.   “Our customers have indicated that they are looking for affordable, entry-level turnkey solutions that make RosettaNet implementation a relatively painless and swift process.   With the GridTalk proven on RosettaNet Basics, we are ensuring that our customers from enterprises of all sizes can participate in the global RosettaNet trading community, by leveraging existing IT infrastructure and not requiring extensive IT overheads.”< /span>

About GridTalk

Developed in Java, GridTalk runs off a desktop computer, notebook, or server with access to the Internet.   The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) architecture allows GridTalk to be scalable and cost-effective for both supply chain leaders seeking to enable and automate trading partners, and for smaller enterprises looking to connect to the RosettaNet standard-based trading community for the first time.   Incorporated with the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) based on RSA Security’s libraries, GridTalk ensures authentication and non-repudiation of business partners involved in the exchange of business documents.   GridTalk is part of GridNode’s extended enterprise businessware offering in which supply chain B2Bi implementation is carried out based on software configuration, rather than resource-intensive programming in other client-server-based solutions.   GridTalk has enabled deployment times for supply chain B2Bi and trading network expansion in RosettaNet trading community to be significantly reduced.
