TAIPEI , Taiwan --
The companies at the event established 37 server-to-server connections and exchanged XML documentsusing the purchase order request and advanced shipment notification RosettaNet Partner Interface ™ (PIP ® ). These specifications define steps in the purchase order process between trading partners. Additionally, companies demonstrated interoperability between third party software solutions that connect businesses to their trading partners. “The participation at the Interoperability Fest exceeded our expectations because of the commitment, preparation and cooperation by the participating companies,” said Ketan Sampat, director, Intel e-Business Group, Asia. “The event represents a significant step forward in accelerating RosettaNet deployments among high-tech trading partners.” In order to further RosettaNet deployment in the industry, the companies plan to integrate the PIPs into their own Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. They also plan to deploy additional PIPs with their trading partners and build on the connections established during the IOF. “As a major player within the high-tech industry, Intel continues to be at the forefront of driving business-to-business integration across the supply chain,” said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet. “Their role in promoting e-business initiatives, such as the Interoperability Fest, demonstrates Intel’s leadership position in helping to move the industry forward through education and the rapid deployment of RosettaNet standards.” Intel will share the knowledge gained from the event with the RosettaNet consortium and continue to collaborate with the organization to help broaden the adoption of e-Business standards.
