Viacore Plays Key Role in Validation of RosettaNet’s RNIF 2.0 in Multi-vendor Exchange Environment
Viacore Puts New Standard Through Ultimate Test of Hub Capabilities

Viacore, a pioneer in the development and deployment of Business Process Networks (BPNs) and
a leader in RosettaNet implementations, today announced its contribution to the RosettaNet
Implementation Framework (RNIF) 2.0 validation process. Viacore played a vital role in the process
by testing the standard’s capabilities using a multi-vendor, multi-partner private trading exchange
simulation. The results not only validate the functionality of the standard, but also provide
Viacore’s BPN clients with an interoperability roadmap and an unrivaled competency in working with
the new RosettaNet Implementation Framework.

RNIF 2.0 provides enhanced exchange protocols for the packaging, routing and transferring of
RosettaNet business messages. Viacore’s particular success in implementing BPNs for private trading
exchanges made it an ideal organization to test the standard’s functionality and interoperability.
To provide an authentic test environment, Viacore created a virtual BPN using the company’s
ProcessToneTM solution, which connected several virtual organizations using six leading B2B gateway
software offerings.
RosettaNet's Partner Validation Process included an eight-week Hub testing period, during
which time Viacore routed RNIF 2.0 business processes through virtual spoke organizations, each
using a different B2B gateway. Viacore facilitated the interoperability testing between the various
B2B gateways by troubleshooting connectivity issues and monitoring process exchange. Viacore was
able to provide preliminary feedback to RosettaNet on areas where the standard needed refinement,
and after working closely with the RosettaNet standards development team, helped determine that the
RNIF 2.0 standard was ready for release to the RosettaNet community.
