CommerceScout Joins RosettaNet as Solution Partner

CommerceScout Network Optimizes Global Product Sourcing Between Buyers and Sellers

For Release October 23, 2000

NEWPORT BEACH

CommerceScout, an innovator in B2B eMarketplace connectivity products, has become a Solution Partner of RosettaNet, a consortium of computer technology companies developing supply chain e-business interface standards.

The partnership will enhance the recently launched CommerceScout Network, an eMarketplace management portal that enhances supply chain efficiency for both buyers and sellers of direct materials. The multiple-marketplace management network requires (a) product information to be aggregated effectively from multiple sources and (b) transactions to be dispersed to multiple eMarkets -- both in real time. RosettaNet's Partner Interface Processes™ (PIPs™), which define business processes between supply-chain partners, provide the models and documents for the implementation of standards, enable the efficient transfer of data, and facilitate transactions. "RosettaNet will heighten our ability to optimize product sourcing between buyers and sellers, with current, accurate and well-organized data," said Thad Johnson, CommerceScout's vice president of product delivery. "The RosettaNet PIPs and product information structures can be integrated throughout the data supply chain to streamline the data and transaction flows - from manufacturer, to eMarketplace, to CommerceScout's client. Customers win because they can procure a product, based on in-depth product information directly from the source, and be confident that their selected product will meet their requirements."

CommerceScout is currently adding a RosettaNet PIP to its parametric search engine for global price and availability to enhance private and public eMarketplace performance.

"CommerceScout can help speed the adoption of RosettaNet standards, and we invite their participation to ensure that our global standards support their multiple marketplace management eCommerce model and other exchanges," said Jennifer Hamilton, RosettaNet's CEO.
