Savi Technology Joins RosettaNet Consortium

Company Will Utilize Common e-Business Language In Global Supply Chain Visibility Network

For Release June 27, 2000

SUNNYVALE

Savi Technology, Inc., a supply chain service provider building a global visibility network, today announced that it has joined RosettaNet and will support the Consortium's specifications for a common language to align business processes between participants in the electronics and information technology industries.

Savi, which joined the Consortium as a Solution Partner, will implement RosettaNet Partner Interface Process™ (PIP™) and messaging specifications, which are designed to enable seamless communications between suppliers and partners in Internet-based trading environments. Support for the RosettaNet-defined business interfaces will be an integral part of Savi's hosted visibility solutions, which can be accessed by the company's customers via web browser.

"RosettaNet's success to date in its ambitious program demonstrates both the need for, and the powerful impact of, the Consortium," said Vic Verma, president and CEO of Savi Technology. "We intend to be an active participant in the adoption and integration of the standards framework, which provides the basis for exchange of commerce information as part of a complete business solution for the electronics and information technology marketplaces."

About Savi Technology
Savi Technology is a supply chain application service provider (ASP) building a global wireless visibility network to provide real-time data on the movement of goods and assets throughout the supply chain. Using proven Automatic Data Collection technologies and the Internet as an open, secure interface, Savi delivers real-time, accurate data on the identity, location and status of goods and assets to all participants in the global supply chain. The system uses wireless tags and other smart devices attached to totes, containers, pallets and trailers monitored by strategically positioned readers that automatically feed the asset data through local servers to the Savi Data Center. Users access accurate, real-time location and status information via any web browser.

Savi systems have been deployed in pilot and operational systems for U.S. and international customers, including major grocery, automotive and electronics companies, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Postal Service and Singapore Airlines. Savi is a privately held company, with headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif. For additional information, visit www.savi.com, e-mail sales@savi.com, or call 408/743-8000.
