Partner Press Release Insight to Integrate For Release June 9, 1999
Tempe, AZ -- Computer products direct marketer Insight, a subsidiary of Insight Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSIT), today announced its intent to integrate RosettaNet processes into the company's supply chain and e-commerce systems. RosettaNet is a global initiative to adopt common business processes to advance IT supply chain interaction worldwide. RosettaNet is defining and leading the implementation of open and common processes - an "infostructure" - designed to align the e-business interfaces between IT supply chain partners. Through RosettaNet, the IT industry has established global business process standards for a PC supply chain involving manufacturers, distributors, resellers and end users, with support from system architects and solution providers. Board members represent 34 companies that generate more than half of the PC sector's $7 billion in annual revenues. "Insight was invited to be a RosettaNet board member because we built our business on the premise that this ever more exacting market demands a higher order of efficiency," said Mike Gumbert, Insight's chief operating officer. "Together, this consortium of industry leaders has rapidly invented the most frictionless and reliable end-to-end supply chain and commerce environment ever." An important component of Insight's evolving infrastructure, RosettaNet processes are being integrated into Insight tools and procedures to continue maximizing efficiency and its resulting value to customers. The "infostructure" will further streamline logistics and order fulfillment from Insight suppliers and be used in making more information available to customers. "Today, the promise of e-commerce is being realized in large part by the hard work of many people and disparate tools reinterpreting and reproducing huge amounts of information," Gumbert continued. "Tomorrow, customers, manufacturers and resellers like Insight will enjoy a new level of efficiency, accuracy and information." The RosettaNet Managing Board now consists of 34 CEOs, CIOs, and executives representing global members of the IT supply chain, including: American Express (NYSE: AXP), Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW), Avnet (NYSE: AVT), CHS Electronics (NYSE: HS), Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO), CompUSA (NYSE: CPU, Compaq (NYSE: CPQ), Computacenter, Deutsche Financial Services, EDS (NYSE: EDS), Federal Express, GE Information Services, GSA, Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP), IBM (NYSE: IBM), Inacom (NYSE: ICO), Ingram Micro Inc.
