(NYSE:ARW), a member of RosettaNet since December 1998, announced its continued support of the organization's efforts to develop and adopt electronic business interfaces worldwide."Arrow's participation and support of RosettaNet standards will reduce proprietary methods and encourage efficient supply-chain practices in the business-to-business eCommerce market," said Lauren Holmes, Arrow's Vice President of Applications Development. As a board member and architect partner of RosettaNet, Arrow contributes directly to interface development by providing some ofthe expertise and human resources for project teams. Arrow also votes to approve interfaces and to encourage the adoption of RosettaNet's initiatives. Steve Kaufman, Arrow Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, serves on the RosettaNet Managing Board, which is responsible for defining the interface development projects and setting the organization's priorities. Board members also have the responsibility of promoting and implementing these interfaces, beginning with adoption throughout their own companies and their eBusinesspartners. As a result, Arrow has a dedicated team of resources to ensure the implementation of RosettaNet within the company's extensive eCommerce capabilities. "RosettaNet provides the standards and structure our industry needs for highly integrated business-to-business commerce, whether it is over a private network, a value-added network or the public internet," stated Kaufman.
