Partner Press Release Distributor Dedicates Global Team to Facilitate Implementation For Release June 9, 1999
Clearwater, FL -- As part of a consortium of major information technology companies, Tech Data Corporation announced that it has dedicated an enterprise-wide team of IT specialists and business unit representatives to facilitate implementation of RosettaNet e-commerce standards. Slated for February 2, 2000, the "EConcert Readiness Day" was announced today as a cross-enterprise initiative to orchestrate the implementation of RosettaNet specifications between IT supply chain partners. In preparation for "EConcert Readiness Day", Tech Data is participating in a series of pre-production pilots known as "dances" involving 18 RosettaNet member companies. Each dance links a few partners with a selection of RosettaNet PIPs (Partner Interface Processes). Tech Data is partnering with NEC on the purchasing PIP targeting the EConcert Milestone date of August 9, 1999 to complete the pilot. Tech Data is teaming up with Internet Commerce Connection(ICC), a RosettaNet partner, to provide the technology solution for EConcert. "Our worldwide Tech Data RosettaNet implementation team representing sales, marketing IT, distributing and finance is focused on facilitating the integration of open and common processes into our core business applications, as well as integrating RosettaNet PIPs into our specific Internet commerce capabilities," said John Lochow, executive vice president and chief information officer of Tech Data. Lochow also serves on RosettaNet's board of directors. "Electronic commerce has evolved into an integral part of Tech Data's role as a distribution partner to our vendors and resellers. The effect of streamlining and enhancing electronic commerce capabilities through the adaptation of RosettaNet processes will be meteoric on the channel," noted Lochow.
