Bowstreet solutions enable companies to meet RosettaNet's commitment to implement ebusiness for the IT industry

For Release June 9, 1999

Portsmouth, NH -- Bow Street Software, Inc. (Bowstreet), a leader in providing ebusiness solutions for Internet Channel Management, today announces commitment to support RosettaNet's eConcert initiative and solutions to enable companies to integrate RosettaNet capabilities into their ebusiness initiatives. Bowstreet will work with RosettaNet to define and lead the implementation of an open and common processes that is designed to align e-business among IT manufacturers, distributors, resellers, and end users. Bowstreet Internet Channel Management solutions support RosettaNet, enabling companies to use RosettaNet standards to conduct ebusiness with their channel partners.

"RosettaNet's eConcert initiative is helping to bring the power of ebusiness to the IT industry," said Jack Serfass, President and CEO of Bowstreet. "By incorporating RosettaNet our Web Services Architecture, companies can deliver Internet Channel Management solutions to meet the unique needs of their major accounts, channel partners, and suppliers."

Bowstreet provides Internet Channel Management solutions that help companies more effectively manage the unique needs of their complex complex channels of distribution over the Internet. Bowstreet 's solutions are based on their unique Web Services Architecture that uses two cutting-edge technologies: directory services and the Extensible Markup Language (XML). By integrating these two technologies, Bowstreet provides the first eBusiness platform for creating deploying and managing thousands of highly customized Internet-based channel relationships over extranets on the fly and with minimal programming.

The Bowstreet Web Services Architecture enables companies to easily build and replicate Internet channel relationship applications that integrate business processes across departmental and corporate boundaries. Bowstreet's architecture replaces coded applications with small, flexible XML-based software components, which are dynamically assembled in real-time, based on personalized profiles managed by directory services.

The RosettaNet Managing Board now consists of 34 CEOs, CIOs, and executives representing global members of the IT supply chain, including: American Express, Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Bowstreet, CHS Electronics, Cisco Systems, CompUSA, Compaq, Computacenter, Deutsche Financial Services, EDS, Federal Express, GE Information Services, GSA, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, Inacom, Ingram Micro Inc., Insight, Intel, Marshall Industries, Microage, Microsoft, Netscape, NEC Technologies, Office Depot, Oracle, pcOrder, SAP AG, Siemens, Solectron, Tech Data, 3Com, Toshiba Information Systems and United Parcel Service.
